Mr. Able “Sugar” Tarver was the youngest to be born to the late Rev. William Tarver, Jr. and Queen Elizabeth Tarver on May 5, 1945 in Comer, Alabama.
He departed this life on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, Alabama. In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Roy Tarver, Smith Tarver, and Anderson Tarver.
He was a member of Galilee Baptist Church. Sugar really loved being outdoors, cleaning up the yard, fishing, and picking up pecans. He loved watching television, especially the western channel, Gunsmoke was his favorite. He also loved home cooked meals. Mr. Able was truly one of God’s special Angels while on this earth. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him. But what made him really special was that he touched the lives of people all around him even if he knew them or not. That’s not an easy thing to do, but Mr. Able “Sugar” did just that by his kingly, quiet presence. He will be sorely missed.
Able leaves to cherish his precious memories two brothers, Deacon William Tarver III of Midway, AL, and Richard David Tarver of Brooklyn, NY; four sisters, Catherine L. Tarver of Fort Valley, GA, Dorothy B. Freeman of Patterson, IL, Mary J. Yarber of Fort Valley, GA, and Linda Tarver-Perry of Port Saint, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, whom he loved and cherished dearly.
