In the early morning of Tuesday, May 6, 2025, Bettie Sue Patterson entered eternal rest at the age of 85 at Ambassador Health Care @ College Park in Fort Myers, Florida.
Bettie Patterson was born in Abbeville, Alabama on November 27, 1939, to the late E.C. Patterson and Norciss (Crawford) Patterson. She was educated at the Henry County Training School in Abbeville, Alabama.
As a young adult she relocated to the Northeast, first in Newark, New Jersey then finally settling in Hartford, Connecticut where she worked with Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Company, until her retirement. She was a member of Trellis Temple #663 Hartford, Connecticut under the Improve Benevolent Protective Order Elks of the World, Inc.
In her later years she moved to Florida to be with her daughter and grandsons. She confessed Christ at an early age at Rocky Mount Baptist Church and continued her Christian Walk in Fort Myers, Florida where she joined Followers of Christ Fellowship Ministries and remained a loyal member until her death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and one sister: Ulysses Patterson, Rev. Otis C. Patterson, James Patterson, Joseph Patterson, Quency Patterson, Rev. Kizer Bill Patterson, Jeremiah Patterson, and Sister Martha Palmore.
Bettie Sue Patterson leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Vanessa Patterson Vance and her husband, Mark William Vance of Cape Coral, Florida; two grandsons, Vasil Lloyd Saunders Jr. of Cape Coral, Florida, Vyncent Lee Saunders of Cape Coral, Florida; Sister, Ruby Seago, Dothan, Alabama, Rev. Willie Lee Patterson, Sanford, Florida; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
