Ms. Connie Jernigan was born in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late Sam H. Green and Maggie Bell Tyson. She received her education through the Eufaula City School System, and at an early age, joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Connie was known for her gentle spirit and loving heart. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. She was someone people trusted deeply—she kept secrets without judgment and offered a quiet kind of comfort to those around her. Though naturally shy, Connie had a calm, laid-back presence, but once she stepped into the room, she could easily become the life of the party (Cool Breeze).
She was united in marriage to the late Jimmy Jernigan, and to this union, two children were born.
On May 3, 2026, Connie quietly departed this life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Jernigan; her parents, Sam H. Green and Maggie Bell Tyson; her daughter, Ashley Iesha Jernigan; her brothers, J.C. Tyson and Jessie Green; and her sisters, Beatrice Palmer, Carolyn Green, Vickie Green, and Julia (Macy) Timbers.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, Jimmy Jernigan and Jessica Jernigan (Nicholas McKinnon), all of Eufaula, Alabama; her grandson, Jamarion Jernigan, whom she lovingly raised as her own after the passing of his mother, Ashley; her brother, Charles (Chydonna) Green; and her sister, Sharon Bush. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Dave (Debra) Jernigan, Willie Jernigan, and Hubert Palmer; her sisters-in-law, Rosa Ann (John Stanford), Cynthia (Howard) Blackmon, Nancy Jernigan, and Patricia Jernigan; and seven grandchildren. Connie also leaves behind a special nephew, Will Green; two special cousins, Willie Steele and Ann Tyson; and special friends, Chydonna Tate and Belinda Ivey, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
