A Time To Be Born
Delois Smith Corbitt was born on June 30, 1953 to the late Annie Mell McElroy Smith and Pete Smith in Barbour County, Alabama. She was the youngest of seven siblings.
A Time To Live
She confessed her life to Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama. She later joined Antioch Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the choir.
Delois was educated within the Eufaula School System, attending Van Buren Elementary School and TV McCoo High School in Eufaula, AL.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Julius Corbitt on May 9, 1972. To this union two children were born, Julius Leon Corbitt and Carlos Fitzgerald Corbitt. She was a dedicated employee to the Eufaula City School System for many years. After retirement, she was a loving wife and mother devoted to serving her family.
A Time To Transition
On Friday, September 9. 2025, she was called to her eternal resting place. She was preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings with the exception of one brother.
Delois’s love and legacy will be cherished by her caring husband of fifty-two years, Julius Corbitt; two sons, Julius Leon Corbitt and Carlos Fitzgerald Corbitt; one brother James (Pamela) Smith of Hartford, CT; grandchildren, Kentavius Crews, Jasmine Harris, Ferriven Corbitt Rice (Hans); two great granddaughters Azariah Harris and Cailynn Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
