Donald Facen was born on June 21, 1959 in Comer, Alabama, the son of Mr. Joe Facen, and the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Facen. He departed this life on April 19, 2025 at the Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama.
He confessed his faith in Christ and joined the Galilee Baptist Church. Donald attended the Rebecca Comer High School and graduated with the Class of 1978. He then went on to attend Tuskegee University. Later on he served in the military.
We all know the love he had for basketball. Those King Kongs were the bomb back then. Cars also was another one of his passions. Donald always was a hard worker and very dedicated. His final workplace was Cochran Lumber, until his illness.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Mary Facen of Batesville, AL; his dad, Mr. Joe Facen of Union Springs, AL; his lovely daughter, Kenyatta Hunter; his grandchildren; his siblings, Carolyn (Michael) Thomas, Maurice Tarver, and Valerie Toney; his uncle, Donald (Betty) Franklin; his aunt, Marget Berry of Apopka, FL; bonus family, Eugene Ligon, Joe (Tracy) Dunn, Chester Mitchell, Sr, Larry Mitchell, J B Mitchell, Jr, Clara (Robert) Day, Anthony Mitchell, Jolanta (Caleb) Perkin, Yolanda Polk; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Donald was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Lillie Mae Facen; brother, Bobby Facen; and sister, Lillie Pearl Streeter.
