Evelyn “Ruth” Barber entered into rest, peacefully on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at her home in Clopton, Alabama.
Affectionately known as Ruth to her family and friends. She was one of nine children born to the late Reverend Leroy and Hattie Warmack.
As a young adult, Ruth moved to Newark, New Jersey, joining two of her sisters, Ella and Rebecca.
Ruth met and married her loving husband James Barber. To this union, they had one child, a son James “Butch” Barber.
After working for many years at Fedders in New Jersey, she decided to retire in 1985.
Ruth was a beautiful person who was kind and caring. She was willing to lend a hand to many and always there to help those in need.
The loved ones who preceded her death, in addition to her husband and parents, include siblings: Ella, Rebecca, Lillian, Mary, Napoleon, and Leroy.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories, her son, James, his wife, Jill; Her brothers: William and Jimmy, his wife, Dorothy; a special niece/daughter, Shirley; sister-in-law: Lorraine; Brothers-in-law: George and Daniel; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
