Rev. Jimmy L. Hamerter was born on January 5, 1947 to the late A.B. and Manervia Kyles Hamerter. On February 10, 2023 at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, Alabama, he departed this earthly life for his eternal home. He was preceded in death by his sons, Sammie D. Hamerter and Tyrone Hamerter; his brothers, James B. Hamerter, Jerry L. Hamerter, Ulysses Hamerter, and A.B. Hamerter, Jr.
Rev. Hamerter accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was a member of New Mt. Zion in Clayton, Alabama. He later became a member of St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Alfonzie Ross.
Cherished memories are left to his loving and faithful wife, Ethel B. Hamerter of Clayton, AL; two sons, Jamie Hamerter of Seattle, WA and Amos Marshall of Portland, OR; one god daughter, Johnnie Flowers of Eufaula, AL; twenty or more grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Paul J. (Annette) Hamerter of Dayton, OH; three sisters, Mary D. Stewart and Rev. Margretta L. Dobbs, both of Dayton, OH, and Lue Versia Simmons of Eufaula, AL; four brothers-in-law, Frank D. Marshall, John E. (Kayocaie) Marshall, Michael (Teresa) Marshall and Roy Lee Hill; five sisters-in-law, Wanda (James) Wilson, Betty (Lorenza) Wilson, Belinda Blackmon, Joann Ford and Corene Williams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
