Joyce Smith Holley was born September 30, 1942 to Jessie Lee Smith and Sulphia Lee Powell. She departed this life to enter into eternal rest on Friday, December 15, 2023. Her siblings, Debra Smith, Barbara Ann Smith, Jessie Mae Spencer, Johnny C. Wilson, and Christine Massey preceded her in death.
Joyce was employed as a cashier for many years at Constantine’s and Wichman’s restaurants in Mobile, AL prior to her retirement. She was known in her neighborhood in Theodore, AL as a woman that treated everyone as family and the neighborhood children as her own kids.
Joyce is survived by two siblings, Mrs. Cherry Knight of Tallahassee, FL, and Melvina Holmes of Eufaula, AL. She also leaves precious memories to her four loving sons, Quentin, Philip, Ralph of Mobile, AL, and Jeffery, Sr. of Warner Robins GA. She was a devoted and caring mother who cherished her children and grandchildren. Her grandchildren include Quentin Watson, Sherod Holley, Phaylon Hudson, Phylicia Hudson, Phaysia Hudson, Melissa Holley, Raphael Edmond, Ricardo Edmond, Alexandria (Bree) Holley, Isaiah Holley, Alexis Thibault, and Jeffery Holley, Jr., and two great-grandchildren Raphael Edmond, Jr. (RJ), and Benjamin Grider. Joyce will be remembered as an amazing woman who always put her family first. She had a deep love for her children and grandchildren and would do anything for them.
