Lee Dozier Obituary

Mr. Lee Otis Dozier was born February 11, 1949 in Edwin. AL to the late Simon Dozier Jr and Willie Dozier. He departed this life on October 13, 2023 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center surrounded by those that loved him.

Mr. Dozier joined Saint Micheal AME Church at an early age. In recent years he frequently attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Newville, AL until his health would no longer allow him to. Mr. Dozier enjoyed attending church and touched the lives of all who encountered him. He never met a stranger. His charismatic charm, wit, and kindness will forever live on in the memories he shared with those who know and love him.

Mr. Dozier attended Henry County Training School until the age of 14, when he began to work to help provide for his mother and siblings. He worked majority of his life within the logging industry. His most recent employment was with Charles Money Logging Company. When he was not working, Mr. Dozier was an avid gardener who also enjoyed NASCAR racing. In his early years, Mr. Dozier took pride in racing his own cars. His racing title was “Mr. Big Stuff.”

Throughout his life, he demonstrated his love for the Lord by how he treated others. He was a remarkably wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Words cannot express how much he will be missed by all of the lives he touched.

Mr. Dozier leaves to cherish his memories his memories: his wife of 50 years, Nellie Kate Dozier; two children Rodney Dozier of Abbeville, AL and Aretha Evans (Edward) of Valdosta, GA; a granddaughter he raised as his own, Jazzmon DozierBrunson (DeAddison) of San Antonio, TX; four siblings: Dolly Dozier, Rosie Byrd, and Ike Dozier (Jessie) of Abbeville, AL, and Mike Dozier (Wanda) of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memories four nephews he viewed as sons: Randy Glanton, Tyrone Glanton, Timothy Glanton, and Marvin Glanton of Abbeville, AL. Mr. Dozier was welcomed into heaven by his two sons James and Roderick Dozier; two sisters Willie Fletcher and Molly Horne; and one brother Grant Dozier.
