Obituary

Mr. Marvin Martin was a resident of Eufaula, Alabama. He was born May 1, 1932 in Inverness, Alabama to the late W.C. Martin and Lucille Smith Person.   He attended school in Columbus, Georgia.

Marvin found Christ at a early age and he was a faithful member of Saint Luke A.M.E. Church until his death.

Early in life Marvin met and married Flossie Hugle Martin. Marvin and Flossie shared twenty-one great years together.  From this union, three beautiful children were born. She preceded him in death and he  later remarried Mary Lightner Martin, where they also shared twenty-one years together. He was employed with American Building Company for fifty years.  Marvin was a member of the Shriners of the Mizraim Temple #119, 33 Degree Mason, and a member of the Worthy Patron of St. Mark Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

Marvin had a passion for lawn maintenance, the church, the Masonic, and tinkering with stuff. He was known as Daddy, Granddaddy, Pops, and much more. You can always count on him to tell you the truth whether you wanted to hear it or not.

Marvin is survived by his special friend, Sheryl Watson; Children, Melanese (Linell) Martin, Michael (Sharon) Martin, Vincent Martin, Cynthia (DeWayne) Danzey, Ben (Samantha) Lightner, and Deborah Martin; Grandchildren, Michael Martin, Danyel Martin, Lucretia (Shyrone) Parker, Marlana (Cory) Davis, Larry Jackson, and Zion Martin; Siblings, Calvin Person, Alphonso Martin, Jimmy Martin, Claude (Annie) Martin, Nathaniel (April) Martin, and Farry Martin.
