Nettie Jewel Jones was the last of the nine children birthed to Essie Bell Banks and Bradford (Brag) Banks called home to be with the Lord. She was born August 23, 1926. She departed this life at the blessed age of 96 years old on November 18, 2022.
In 1970, she married John M. Jones (who preceded her in death) and became a “second mother” to Jerome and Miriam Jones...who affectionately called her “Peaches”. She was a faithful wife, an active missionary for the Lord, and a soulwinner for the Kingdom.
Nettie was known as Sister Jones in New Jersey where she faithfully attended Deliverance Evangelistic Center. She worked on the Nurses Board assisting her pastor, Apostle Arturo Skinner while also serving on the Missionary Board. She was promoted to Mother Jones in Alabama at Trinity Life Church where she later became president of the Missionary Department and the Pastor’s Aid Committee.
Mother Jones not only served as the mother of Trinity Life Church, but she mothered a community of people. As many as would come to her home or call, Mother Jones did not hesitate to provide them with godly counsel to the best of her ability.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Elizabeth Tullis, Fred Banks, Cotton Gibson Banks, Marcellus Banks, Minnie Frazier, Otis Banks, Mary Clair Lewis, and Esther Lundy.
She leaves to cherish her memory Jerome Jones (son), Miriam Mazique (daughter), grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Banks and Sylvia Banks; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
