Today, we gather to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Mrs. Ola Mae Norris. She was born to the late Richard Odom and Margaret Jones-Gilbert on September 1, 1927, in Georgetown, Georgia.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She later placed her membership at Zion Baptist Church, Eufaula, AL.
She was a woman whose presence touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to her, we reflect on the profound impact she had on each of us. She was a beacon of strength and wisdom. Her unwavering commitment to her family was evident in the love and support she showered upon them every day. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of her family for generations to come.
Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. R.C. Norris; six children, Mary Ann Hawkins, Margaret Folley, Sidney, Larry, Bobby, and Mae Norris; one step-son, Jimmy Reeves; One sister, Mozelle Smith; Three grandchildren, Arthur Norris, Terry Carter, and Ashley Jernigan.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Robert Norris of Eufaula, AL; two daughters, Wila Dean Clayton of Detroit, MI, and Beverly Norris of Eufaula, AL; three step-children, Betty Clark and Annie Mims of Montgomery, AL, and Mary Dennis of Georgetown, GA; three siblings, Shirley (Coalfied) Hill, JL Hawkins, and Bobby (Lillie) Gilbert of Eufaula, AL; two special friends, Mrs. Sarah Preston and Ms. Ivory Baker; one special cousin, Ms. Rebecca Turner; twenty-two grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
