Otis C. Harris

Mr. Otis C. Harris was born on June 16, 1953 in Barbour County to the late Mr. Authur James Harris, Sr. and Mrs. Sally Mae Woodard Harris.

He attended public school at the Barbour County Training School in Clayton, AL. He served in the United States Army from 1973 to 1975. He was employed with the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health for over thirty years as a supervisor for the Adolescent Center. His last place of employment, before retiring, was with Wiregrass Mental Health.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Authur and Sally Harris; his sisters, Shirley Harris and Linda Harris; and his brothers, Alfred Harris and Authur Harris, Jr.

Otis leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Clara Bennett; one daughter, Shanada Bennett; three grandchildren, Shakadrain, Tre’lyn and Sha’Nya; one great grandchild, Kanova; two brothers, Andrew (Emily) Harris and Larry (Delborah) Harris, all of Clayton, AL; three sisters, Arma Harris and Anne Harris of Clayton, AL, and Diane (Lester) Scott of Springhill, AL; one special cousin, Michael Wilson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
