Raymond Lee Glover was born in Comer, Alabama on March 19, 1939, to the late Irene Smith Glover and John Walker Franklin, Sr. Raymond’s earthly life expired on Saturday, January 26, 2026 in Munster, Indiana.
At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and joined Galilee Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama. He later joined Zion Hill Baptist Church in Midway, Alabama. He attended Rebecca Comer High School, and later college at Tuskegee Institute.
Following his graduation, Raymond answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. His time in the military was marked by courage and dedication, and he proudly upheld the values of honor and service to which he remained committed throughout his life. Upon completing his military services, Raymond embarked on a remarkable career spanning an impressive twenty-nine years with the Army Corp of Engineers in Florida.
Mr. Glover was also a Brick Mason, and enjoyed Architectural Design. He designed the blue print for his home in Eufaula and was very much involved in the construction process. He enjoyed traveling and spent most of his time between Eufaula, Alabama and Panama City Florida. In his later years, he matriculated to the Chicago Area where he was surrounded by love and care by his loving nephew, Johnnie Glover, Jr.
He is predeceased by his parents, Irene Glover and John Franklin, Sr, and his brother, Johnnie Lee Glover, Sr.
Mr. Glover is survived by two nephews, Johnnie Glover, Jr of Chicago, IL and Bobby Dale of Lawton, OK; Raymond Lee Glover, also leaves to cherish a special close family friend/caretaker Dr. Leslie Yanders of Hammond, Indiana whom he referred to as his God Daughter and “Nurse Maid”; four sisters, Thelma F Scott of Montgomery, AL, Joeretha (Johnny) Lawrence of Eufaula, AL, Carolyn (Bobby) Davis of Hurtsboro, AL, and Lisa Franklin of Montgomery, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
