Rickey Landon Person

Rickey LaDon Person was born on February 8, 1973 in Eufaula, AL to Frances and the late John Person. At an early age, Rickey  accepted  Christ and was baptized in the Greater Sardis Baptist Church, in Clayton, Alabama. Rickey spent his early years in Midway, AL where he enjoyed hunting, go carting, motorcycle riding, and spending time in the outdoors with his father and brothers. It wasn’t unusual to find him shooting hoops and as he called it “perfecting his game.” As he matured, he shifted his love to restoring old cars and trucks. 

Rickey attended both Clayton Elementary and  Eufaula City Schools, but ultimately graduated high school in Memphis Tennessee. Additionally, Rickey went on to earn his Automotive Certification which afforded him the opportunity to return to his first love of cars/trucks. Our Rickey was always full of surprises such as learning to speak Spanish and earning a certification in Health and Nutrition. 

Rickey was known for being a hard worker. He began his work career at American Buildings and later transferred to Eufaula Mineral Manufacturing Corporation before once again reconnecting with his love of cars at BMW Montgomery Service Center. 

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his mother Frances Shipman (Willie); three daughters, Kayla Osborne (Keon ) Phenix City, AL; Tyra Person, Phenix City, AL; Tashira Goshay, Atlanta, GA; and three sons: Rickey Jr., Ryan and Rylan Person all of Eufaula, AL. Five grandchildren: Kinslee, Kyngston, Kynden, Ky’Leigh Osborne and Tai’Lyn Person. Four siblings, two sisters: Penny Kinsey (Terry) Eufaula, AL; Andra Phillips (Eugene) Panama City, Florida; three brothers: Keith Person (Stephanie) Birmingham, AL, Billy Person, Clarksville, TN and Roy Manuel (Shundra).  Five aunts: Barbara Jean Rogers, Mary Alice Rogers, Lillian Singleton, Earlene Jackson (Thurman) and Ruby Person. Two special aunts: Shirley Rumph and DeVelma Conway. Fifteen nieces and nephews: Shelissa, LaMitchell, Christonia., Terrell, Lakeisha, Erica, Keila, Camille, Malcolm, Maiya, Malek, Shamar, Martez, Tarek, Bria, and seven great nieces and nephews with a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
