Ronald Leon Brown, Sr. was born June 23, 1964. He was the sixth of thirteen children born to Donald, Sr. and Mary Alice Trawick Brown in Abbeville, Alabama.
Ronald affectionately known as “Leon” grow up in Abbeville, Alabama and attended public school in Henry County, Alabama. He later attended Tuskegee University where he pursued a degree in engineering. He joined Mary Magdalene Baptist Church at an early age. While attending Abbeville High School he met, and was later united in holy matrimony to Sara Malone Brown. To this union, two children were born.
His parents, three siblings (Gregory Dewitt, Dora Faye, Reginald Doran) and three nephews (James Lamar, Jr., Eric Laneer and Montrez Doran) preceded him in death. He was employed by West Point Stevens and the Henry County School Board for several years.
Leon was a faithful member of Mary Magdalene Baptist Church. He served as a member of the Deacon Ministry and the Mary Magdalene Baptist Church choir. He was also member of the Polar Star Lodge #481.
He answered the Master’s call from labor to reward on April 28, 2023 at his residence.
He leaves to cherish his memory five children: Teria Shankel, Ciara Danyale, Ronald Leon, Jr, Cory Alexander (Shanice), Kyara Chanile (Genise); five sisters: Mary Jewel (Lamar), Carolyn Diane (Frank), Linda Gail (Earl), Cheryl Drisetta (Marcus), Anita Rashell (Kennedy); four brothers: Donald, Jr. (Bettye), Darryl Wayne, Gerald Vanleer, Adrian Duran (Vankeela); nine grandchildren: Shanteria, Jabre, Peyton, Jace, Shane, Jrue, Zane, Xaire, and Kori; two great-grandchildren: Dewayne, Jr. and Damoni; one aunt: Winnie Miller; one uncle : Rufus Feggins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
