Mrs. Rose Mary Crawford was born on June 28, 1958 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson (Katie Bell Richardson) Henley, Sr. in Eufaula, Alabama. She was the fourth child of four children.
Growing up, she attended St. Luke A.M.E. church in Eufaula, Alabama. She confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and served as secretary. She later became a member of Christian Life Church.
In May of 1977, Rose graduated from Eufaula High School in Eufaula, Alabama. In 2007, she earned an associate degree in early childhood education from Wallace Community College. She was recognized for her scholarly achievements and was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
Rose enlisted in the United States Army in 1981. She ranked as a specialist four and was commended for her outstanding service and strong initiative when deployed overseas in Desert Storm (1990-1991). She was honorably discharged in 1991.
On August 28, 1982, Rose was joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Lee Andrew Crawford, a loving and devoted husband and father. Lee preceded Rose in death.
Rose was employed by Hughes Missile Electronics (1991-2000). She spent many hours volunteering at Sanford Avenue Elementary School and was a member of the PTA committee. Rose began working as a substitute teacher (2002-2007) and found her passion for teaching. In 2007, she was employed by Eufaula City Schools as a paraprofessional. She worked in the pre-k department for thirteen years and retired in 2020.
Rose was loving and genuinely caring to everyone she encountered. She lived a joyful life and saw the best in any person or situation. She left an impression that would be unforgettable.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two children, one son, Andrew Theodore Crawford of Mobile, Alabama and one daughter (one son-in-law), Olivia Crawford (Brandon) Bujnowski of Millbrook, Alabama; one granddaughter, Ava Bujnowski; one mother, Mrs. Seretha Henley of Eufaula, Alabama; one brother (one sister-in-law), Thomas J. (Ardenia) Henley, Jr.; three sisters (two brothers-in-law) Mr. and Mrs. Grady (Joann) McClinton, Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Rose Marie) Wright, Ms. Tina Corbett of Eufaula, Alabama; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry (Delborah) Harris, Mrs. Anne Crawford of Clayton, Alabama, and Mrs. Brenda Crawford of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
