Rosie Mae Lightner was born on June 7, 1946 in Eufaula, Alabama to her loving parents, Ozie McCallister O’Hara and Jim Ross O’Hara. She peacefully entered eternal rest on May 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that God called one of His beautiful angels home.
Rosie was a devoted sister, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great grandmother whose love and wisdom touched everyone around her. She was known for her kind heart, strong spirit, comforting presence, and the unconditional love she gave to her family and friends. Rosie believed deeply in family, faith, and togetherness, and her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she helped shape.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving sister, Dorothy Mills; her brothers, Tom O’Hara (deceased), Jimmy O’Hara, and Simon O’Hara (deceased); and her beloved children, Brunette O’Hara, Andre Lightner (deceased), Jerry Lightner, Tawanda Lightner, and Deon O’Hara.
Rosie also leaves behind a loving legacy through her grandchildren, Andre Bennett, Andrea Patterson, Laresha O’Hara (deceased), Rackwon Lightner, Daquondra O’Hara, Tamya Williams, Niara Williams, Jayquan Exqulien, Clenter Williams, Jr, and Ladarius Williams, along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Rosie’s love was a guiding light, her smile was comforting, and her presence was a blessing to all who knew her. While Heaven has gained a beautiful soul, her family has gained a guardian angel whose spirit and love will live forever.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
