Ms. Savannah Ruth Brown was born October 16, 1935, to the late Ms. Hattie Cope and Mr. Louis Crossley of Barbour County, Ms. Brown had three brothers and six sisters. She was preceded in death by all six sisters (Stacie, Rose, Hattie, Janie, Mary and Parrie) and two brothers Roy and J.T.).
Ms. Savannah was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Jeffie Lee Brown in 1953 where she joined Center Baptist Church. To this union seven children were born, one son adopted. Ms. Brown was a devoted wife, mother and foster mother to many other children. She was also known for the “community babysitter” and she touched many lives along her journey.
Ms. Savannah leaves to cherish her memories to all eight children: Callie Perry (Marvin) of Tallahassee, FL, Brenda Kim (Young) of Maryland. Jeffery Brown, Jr. of Dothan, AL. Ida Brown (Linton) of Huntsville, AL, Vanessa Blankenship (Marvin) of Mississippi. Marie Brown Jackson of Dothan, AL, Stacy Brown of Dothan, AL, Darien Brown (Mary) of Abbeville, AL. One brother Henry Cope, Jr. (Alice) of Rochester, New York, one God-daughter Khadijah Abdullah of Abbeville, AL, two stepdaughters Dorothy Brown Lee and Laura Brown Danzey both of Tampa, FL, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
