Obituary

Born into this world on June 19, 1973, Tony Terez Walker, Sr. was the only child born to his mother, the late Linda Walker.

As a child, Tony grew up around family and friends in the Hardridge Creek community in Abbeville, Alabama. At an early age, he joined Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church; he was baptized by the late Reverend W. B. Simpson.

As a young man, Tony graduated from Abbeville High School with the class of 1991. After high school, Tony attended Sparks State Technical College and studied Cosmetology.

Tony was a talented beautician and barber. For many years, he worked at Sol’s Beauty Shop in Eufaula, Alabama under the direction of owner and business man, Mr. Solomon “Sol” Guilford. Tony learned to perm, cut, and curl all types of hair for all races of people. For those of us who really knew Mr. Tony Terez Walker, Sr., all of us will agree that Tony was a great beautician and barber.

Also, Tony was always on the move; he traveled and practiced his craft in many cities in both Alabama and Georgia. Whether it was Eufaula, Fort Gaines, Montgomery, Atlanta, or elsewhere, Tony was always ready to perm, cut, or curl someone’s hair.

In addition to being a great beautician and barber, Tony had a charming personality. He was loved by many, young and old. Tony would often visit his family, friends, and elders, and talk with them for hours about the good old days.

So, on this day, we celebrate the life of Mr. Tony Terez Walker Sr., and we are grateful for the 50 short years that we had to spend with Tony.

In closing, Tony leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Mrs. Markeyda (Keke) Harper Walker; his daughters: Shalaia Davis and Hayley Walker; his sons: Desmond Anderson and Tony Terez Walker Jr., step children: Joquavis Sutton, Alex Davis, Makiyah Harper, ArKavion McCune. He also leaves his sister: Shamaya Littleton; his brothers: Reginald (Danielle) Span and Arwin Littleton, II. In addition, Tony leaves his father, Arwin (Salita) Littleton, Sr.; grandmother, Mrs. Zera Littleton, aunt and uncles; Christopher Jackson, Ricky Porter, Richard (Lisa) Walker, Steven (Gwendolyn) Walker, and Albert (Juliette) Walker, Jr.

Finally, Tony leaves a host of in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. So, as we prepare to close the book on the life of Mr. Tony Terez Walker Sr., we say farewell, Tony; may you forever rest in peace as you join your heavenly family members: your mother-Linda Walker; grandmothers-Lena May Walker and Georgia Ann Porter Jackson; grandfathers-Albert Walker, Sr. and William (B. G.) Littleton;  your uncle-Hosea Walker, Sr. and the many other family members who have gone before you. Tony, keep the family in heaven well-groomed and smiling until we meet again.
