Troy Lee Ellington was born in Eufaula, Alabama on August 9, 1929. She was the daughter of John and Camilla Browder.
At an early age Mrs. Troy accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and joined St. Emmanuel A.M.E. Church, where she remained an active member until they no longer had services there. She then joined New Mount Zion A.M.E. Church.
Early in life she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Lawrence Ellington. She was known to the community as Mrs. Troy. She was employed with Bluff City Elementary School for over twenty-five years, and was known as everyone’s grandmother. Mrs. Troy always had a warm smile and a humble heart.
On January 29, 2026, Mrs. Troy departed this earthly life for her eternal home. In addition to her parents, John and Camilla Browder, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Ellington; her sons, Kenneth and Larry; her brothers, Clarence and Robert; her sisters, Mary and Martha; special son-in-law, Lateef Lawal; special nephews, Clarence Hall, Jr and Sam Byrd, Jr.
Mrs. Troy leaves to cherish her loving memories and wisdom to Her Legacy. Children: Johnnie Jackson, Ruth Ellington, Lawrence (Joan) Ellington, Coy Flenory, Linda Lawal (Miami, FL), Lenna (Norman) Hall, Tyrone Ellington, Tracy Ellington, Janice (Frank) Hall, all of Eufaula, AL; Grandchildren: Diane (Oscar) Benton, Karen Barksdale, Brandi Crystal, Deon Ellington, Brandon (Cynthia) Flenory, Jonathan (Regina) Flenory, Brittany Flenory, Erica (Travis) Sibert, Natasha (Khiry) Thomas, Corey Ellington, Stephen Lawal, Kelsey Ellington, Ravis Hall; Great Grandchildren: Lacretia (T.J.) Parker, Amarion McCray, Alexandria Flenory, Kennedi Crystal, Brayden Flenory, Peyton Flenory, Armani Thomas, Katie Flenory, Sarai Lawal, Amari Thomas, Mia Joy Sibert, Mila Jai Sibert; Great-Great Grandchildren: Day-Shun Parker, Draven Parker, Drake Parker, Casey Parker, Camiya Parker; Nieces, Patricia (Thomas) Thomas and Veronica Torress; Nephews, Roland (Drusilla) Hall, Leonard (Sandra) Hall, Richard Browder, Fabian Browder; Two Surrogate Sons, Norman Hall and Robert Scott; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
