The sun rose on November 6, 1929, in Phenix City, AL, when Vonnie “Bonnie” Jackson was born to the late Frank and Mary Lee Facen Smith. On Thursday, June 22, 2023, she quietly stepped thru the gates to enteral home quietly surrounded by her daughters.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Frank and Mary Smith, son, James Sims Streeter and brother, Cicero Hill Sr. At an early age, she confessed Christ and joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She attended Rebecca Corner School, in the Springhill Community.
She worked many years for Holiday Inn in Eufaula, AL as a cook and worked with Troubled Kids during her stay in Springfield, MA. Vonnie loved baking pound and caramel cakes.
Vonnie, leaves her memories to be cherished by her two daughters: Ernestine Miller of Sumter, SC; Eula (Oscar) Smith, Springfield, MA and son: George (Volene) Streeter Sr., of East Point, GA; Brother, Joe (Shelly) Hill of Detroit, MI. Grandchildren; Melisa Howard, Sharon Streeter, James Maurice Thomas, Tonya Heard, Jackie Thomas, Kelvin Streeter, and Roger Streeter; Nine great-grandchildren; Travis, Daryl, Rania, Raven, Chantel, Rethaja, Josh, Lala and Raylan, Three great-great-grands; Sincere, Demetrius and Harmony; Loving and devoted Sister-in-law, Gwen Hill; Loving cousin, Ella Penn; Best friend of many years, Mary Rodgers; God-daughter, Charlie Mae Johnson, Special Caregiver Veronica Horne, host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
“Vonnie is finally at rest she has completed her earthly tour, let there be no pain, for she’s well now”.
