Wayne Sylvester

Wayne Sylvester was born July 5, 1959 in Eufaula, Alabama to the late Ardell and Viola Sylvester.  He was the 7th child of ten siblings.  He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. 

He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he remained until God called him home.

He graduated from Eufaula High School in 1978.  Wayne joined the US Army August of 1978 and later the Alabama National Guard and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant during his military career.

Wayne was joined in matrimony to Janice Sylvester on May 23, 1980, and to this union three children were born.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of forty-two years, Janice    Sylvester; his two sons, Patrick Sylvester of Tampa, FL and Phillip Sylvester of Eufaula, AL; one daughter, Shovonda Grant of Eufaula, AL; four grandkids, Jonnathan Grant, LaKendrick Grant, Tyjuan Turner, and Alysia Sylvester; one great granddaughter, Melody Grant; four brothers, Ardell (Ida) Sylvester of Eufaula, AL, James Sylvester of Sodus, NY, Alonza (Georgia) Sylvester of    Abbeville, AL, Herman (Frances) Sylvester of Eufaula, AL; one sister, Hattie (Robert) Johnson of Eufaula, AL; one aunt, Lucresie Pipkins of Sodus, NY;  special cousin, Annie Dale Brown of Chicago, IL; six sisters-in-law, Carrie Zackery of Chicago, IL, Janice Smith of Nashville, GA, Bernice Stephens of Miami FL, Cathy McCray of Tampa, FL, Willie Ann (George) Daniels of      Augusta, GA, Lucy Stephens of Eufaula, AL; brother-in-law, Billy Stephens of Eufaula, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Special friends, Robert Johnson, Mack Jones, John Robinson, Willie Jordan, Henry Oliver, and Billy Stephens.
