Zack W. Allen, Jr.

Zack W. Allen, Jr, 70, of Baker Hill, AL, peacefully passed away on December 24, 2023, after a well-fought battle with Sarcoidosis and Congestive Heart Failure.  Born in Bessemer, Alabama to Zack W Allen, Sr. and Luther B Allen, Zack was a curious and charismatic boy.

Zack was fiercely passionate about doing “the right thing” from the start and dedicated his life to the service of his community and his family. After he graduated college, Zack landed his first job as an Alabama State Trooper. This kickstarted a career in Criminal Justice. In 1973, Zack met his wife, Diane, and went on to have two children, Zack III and Brandi. Zack put family first, always, and was a dedicated father. His children went on to pursue careers in Business and Social Work. Zack was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family. Zack was also a passionate sports memorabilia collector and jazz enthusiast. He spent most of his retirement traveling the country with his wife and visiting his children and grandchildren.

Zack was predeceased by his parents Mr. & Mrs. Zack W. Allen Sr, his sister Yvonne Alexander (Thomas), and grandchildren Bean and Love Johnson.  He leaves behind his wife Diane Allen, son Zack W Allen, III (Chelsea), and daughter Brandi Johnson (Wayne) and host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends for viewing and visitation from 1:00pm – 6:00pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Standford Funeral Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 549 S. Randolph Ave, Eufaula, AL. 36027.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, January 5, 2024 at Saint John A.M.E. Church with the Reverend Eric Little of Freemount A.M.E officiating.   Burial will follow at Freemount A.M.E. Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Standford and Sons funeral home.
